Three mile warm-up and then a little track work.  Four times 300 with a 200 to start and a 200 to finish, for 1600 meters total.  Easy 100 meter walk/jog between - nothing fancy, but felt good to be out there.

300?

You used to do that in about 39 seconds jumping over hurdles right?

But I know what you mean about it feeling good to be out there. Every now and then I'll bust out a bunch of 200s on the track and every time I do I think to myself that I should do it more often. Speed and power is a component of fitness that is just as important as endurance and both are usually neglected by people our age.

39.7 to be precise - good old Coach Miller was wise enough to include my PRs in his entry in my yearbook. Of course, that was for the 330 YARD intermediate hurdles - ah the good old Imperial days.

When I competed in 200, 400 and 800 on the masters circuit a few years ago, my workouts consisted of 300s, 500s and the occasional 1,000s - nice distances.
