Short-Term Running Goals:

Break through the 19 then 18 minute mark for 5K

Return to full speed track workouts

 

Long-Term Running Goals:

USATF Age Group All American times in 200 (24.6), 400 (56.0) and 800 (2:11)

Qualify and run Boston before I hit 50... but after I complete my sprint goals

18 miles on the road bike (15.6 mph) in the morning.  Short run this evening... or not.  We'll see.

Do the short run! Doubles are magic - if your body can handle them. And with one workout being low impact, it should be able to.

I'm taking the day off today completely. The problem is I can gain about a pound per day of flab around my stomach with a day off.

Got an exchange student xc runner from Spain today. Looks pretty good.Handsome young lad named Santiago, already very popular with my girls team. I told him that after Le Tour and the World Cup that I expected him to lead us to a state championship.

Speaking of Hulk Hogan and Clearwater dudes. While out on a run with my boys a couple weeks ago I started recalling the Adventures of Young Spock on the Planet Vulcan...."Hey Spock, get your pole out of my Vulcan Basshole".

So far, no parent has called the principal to complain about the cross country coach - that I know of.

Give a guy a few hours off from running, and the mind wanders straight to the gutter. I believe you meant to say the piscatorial adventures of... really need to include the fishing reference in the setup.

Back-to-school shopping and dinner took precedence over the evening run yesterday. I did get out there for 5 this morning though. Off to log that now.
